It's 1166, and you are among the greatest peers of the court of King Louis VII of France, King of the Golden Rose. With France under increasing danger from its enemies, monsters awakening across Europe, the Papacy fragmented and secret societies forming everywhere, the realm needs defenders. Long ago, when you and your fellow adventurers were friends in your idealistic youth, you swore an oath to be France’s eternal defenders and to band together in time of need. However that oath was sworn sixteen years ago, in the wake of the disastrous Second Crusade. Many differences have emerged between you in the intervening years.
1166 is a campaign, using d20 rules, that will mix high adventure and political intrigue. While it uses history as a tentpole, this is not strictly speaking a historical campaign, it doesn’t hesitate to use anachronisms or change historical events and personages.
