Character Generation: Races And Ethnicities

RACES ALLOWED
Human. The standard race, with the following regional choices:

French. The default culture of the campaign. French receive a bonus of +1 Influence points for every 10000 xp.

Foreign (English, Burgundian, Flemish, Lombard, or German): You’re from a neighboring country in France. You gain a -2 penalty to your Standing with all French nobles, but a +4 bonus to your Standing with your home noble.

Jew. The common scapegoat of the time, known for its influence in commerce. You have a -2 penalty to your Standing with all European nobles, except in matters of trade or goods, where it improves to a +5 bonus. You also have a +5 Standing bonus with the Jewish and Moorish courts.

Gypsy: Another common scapegoat. You have a -2 penalty to your Standing with all European nobles, but have a +1 to your DC with clerical magic, and may bestow curse 1/day. You also have a +5 Standing bonus with the Gypsy and Dragon courts.

Moor: Not beloved in France during the time of the Crusades, you practice the Islamic faith. A capable swordsman or scholar, you gain a +1 bonus to either Attack or your Spell DC.

OTHER RACES
Half-elf. The faerie realm exists. The haff-elf is
a changeling; you’re a faerie child who was exchanged in your youth with a human babe and raised among them. You have +2 bonus to your Standing with the Seelie Court, a -1 penalty to your Standing with all European factions.

Half-orc. The realm of the Unseelie produces goblins, sometimes called ogres or orcs. You are also a changeling, but you favor the brutish appearance of your parents. You have +4 bonus to your Standing with the Unseelie Court, a -2 penalty to your Standing with all European factions.

Half-Dragon: The Dragon Court exists and sometimes dragons have shared their bloodline with humans. Half-dragons start as level 7, not 10. You have a +4 bonus to your Standing with the Dragon Court and a -2 penalty to your Standing with all other factions.
